Life at Pleasant Hill Post Acute
A stay here is mostly ordinary hours, and those hours matter. Between therapy sessions there are meals to look forward to, something scheduled to join if you want it, and courtyards to sit in when you’d rather not be in your room. Because we’re a small building, the activities director knows what you actually like and the dietary team knows how you take your coffee. None of that shows up on a care plan, but it’s a large part of why people tell us the time went faster than they expected.
Activities
Something is on the calendar every day, and a copy of that calendar is posted in your room so you and your family always know what’s happening and can plan a visit around it. The mix changes through the week, and it changes again based on what the people here actually want to do. Nothing is required and no one will push you. Tell our activities director what you enjoy and they’ll point you toward the things you’ll look forward to instead of the things you’d politely sit through.
“My Mother-in-Law had Aphasia (couldn’t speak) and Frontotemporal Dementia. She was in Pleasant Hill Post Acute for a month… We didn’t realize that my mother-in-law missed being around and interacting with others even though she couldn’t respond. She was included in BINGO & daily activities in the activity room. It was good for her soul! She could understand but couldn’t speak. She would wave to her new friends “hi” and “bye”. She gained so much more than we expected! She felt comfortable there. The staff was AMAZING with her. We are so glad that we made the choice to send her there.”

Social Services
Some of the most challenging parts of a skilled nursing stay have little to do with medical care. Questions about insurance coverage, future plans, and how to address concerns can feel overwhelming. That’s why our social services team begins working with you on the day you arrive, helping you navigate each step of the process. They also support conversations with family members and ensure that your goals and preferences remain at the center of every decision. If something feels complicated, they’re your go-to resource for answers and guidance.
Courtyard and Common Spaces
There’s more to the building than your room and the therapy gym. Our courtyards and patio areas are good places to sit outside with a visitor, and the lobby lounges give families somewhere to gather that isn’t the edge of a bed. Pleasant Hill afternoons are usually warm enough that outside is the better option. These spaces are open to you and your visitors whenever you want them.
